This is a guide to one of the more popular and sophisticated digital cameras now on the market. The book is a trade-sized paperback, 227 pages long, with more than 100 photographs or illustrations. The book includes clearly written explanations of all of the camera's features, controls, and menus. It also covers topics such as the use of built-in and external flash, infrared photography, macro photography, and accessories.

All distances and weights in the book are stated in the English system (feet, inches, ounces) as well as the metric system.

The book also may be of interest to owners of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 camera, because the D-Lux 4 is very similar to the LX3, and the operations of the two cameras are almost identical.

Firmware Update Version 2.2 for the Leica D-Lux 4 Camera Has Been Released

On December 11, 2009, Leica released the new firmware update version 2.1 for the D-Lux 4 camera. The update was withdrawn temporarily because of technical concerns. Onf December 19, 2009, Leica released a corrected version 2.2 of the firmware. Please click on this link to download the new update.
