Today I revised the ordering system for downloading the PDF versions of books in the Photographer’s Guide series. Previously, the purchasing links for the various books handled sales of only the PDF versions of the books. Now, when you go to a book’s ordering page on this site and use the ordering button to purchase the downloadable version, you will receive all electronic versions of the title that are currently available.
For example, if you go to the page for Photographer’s Guide to the Sony DSC-RX100, the newest book available as I write this, you will find a button that links to the purchasing page for the electronic edition of the book. Before today, the only version available through this site was the PDF file. Now, however, if you purchase the PDF, you will automatically receive links for downloading all three versions: PDF, Kindle (.mobi file), and iPad (ePub file). Within a few minutes after placing your order, you should receive an e-mail message confirming your purchase and stating that you will be sent the download links soon. Then, not too long after that (within 30 minutes to an hour, in most cases), you will receive an additional e-mail message that contains links to all available editions that can be downloaded. For the Sony DSC-RX100 and most other books, all three e-book editions are available. For the book about the Leica D-Lux 4, the only editions available are the PDF and the .prc file (an earlier version of the file format for the Kindle). The book about the Panasonic Lumix LX3 is available for download only in PDF format.
