I usually don’t spend much time announcing forthcoming books, partly because I get so busy when I’m working on a book. But I’ve had several people ask whether I would be doing a book about the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100, a camera that has attracted a lot of attention because of its larger-than-usual sensor (for a compact camera), its very small size, and its image quality and great set of features. I have been working on the book since late July, and I hope to have it published by the end of October.
Here is a sample image from the camera, which, like many Sony models, has an excellent Sweep Shooting (panorama) mode that lets you take panoramic images by sweeping the camera across a scene, hand-held; the camera does all the work of stitching together the images. This image is one I have been using as a header for the main page at this site, though I didn’t mention it before now as being an RX100 image. (There is a rotation of several images, so you may not have seen this one when you visited the site.) This panorama shows the miniature Statue of Liberty at Chimborazo Park in Richmond, Virginia.
The RX100 book will be somewhere in the range of 350 pages long in paperback. It will also be available in PDF, ePub, and Kindle formats. If anyone would like to be notified by e-mail when the book is available or has any questions about the book, please send a message to contact@whiteknighpress.com or use the Contact form at this site.
