The paperback version of the new book, Photographer’s Guide to the Sony DSC-RX100, is now showing up at Amazon.com with the statement, “Usually ships within 5 to 8 weeks.” This is actually a good sign, because previously it was listed as “Temporarily out of stock.” With the print-on-demand system that is used for this book, the listing should gradually improve, until it may soon say that the book ships in 1 to 3 weeks, and then, if all goes well, before too long the book should be listed as “In Stock.” That will mean that Amazon has ordered enough copies from the printer to keep a supply in stock.
Of course, I can’t speak for Amazon, and I don’t know how long it will take to get a book if you order one now, but I would hope it would not actually be 5 weeks or longer. In the meantime, though, if you don’t want to take that chance, I am listing the books for sale through Amazon Marketplace under the seller name of White Knight Press under the “New” option that appears below Amazon’s main listing. I ship a book the next business day after receiving the order. If I sell out all of my copies, I will list additional ones in the near future.
You can click on the button below to go to the product page for the RX100 book at Amazon:
Also, you can purchase the book in its downloadable PDF version through this link to the ordering page.
Another good option for purchasing the book is CameraBooks.com, a very reputable online seller that ships quickly, both within the United States and internationally.
The versions for the Kindle and iPad (ePub) are still being prepared; I hope that they will be ready for sale within about another week.
