For anyone who is interested in purchasing the paperback version of Photographer’s Guide to the Fujifilm X10, the book is now listed as available for sale at the Amazon.com site. I have to say, that was very quick work by the printer, Lightning Source, which provided the information to Amazon, and quick work by Amazon to get the book listed.
The listing at Amazon as I write this says the book is “temporarily out of stock,” but that you can order it and it will ship as soon as it is available. This is a “print-on-demand” book, and, as soon as Amazon starts receiving orders, they will send those orders to the printer, Lightning Source, which will print the books quickly and either send them to Amazon for shipment to the purchasers, or ship them to the purchasers directly from the printer’s own facility. So, it should not take too long to get a copy of the book, once you place an order. At this point, very early in the book’s existence, it may take a week or slightly more, I would estimate, but not much longer than that.
Also, as I noted in an earlier post, the paperback edition sells for $29.95. I wish I could sell it for less, but the printing costs for full-color print-on-demand books are high, and that is the lowest price I can reasonably charge for a book of this length (338 pages). The one thing I can do to reduce the impact of the price is to offer a free PDF version to anyone who purchases the paperback, at least for now.
So, until the end of May 2012, if you purchase the paperback edition and then forward me the confirming e-mail from the seller (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or other online site), I will send you a code that will let you download the PDF version for free.
