PowerShot S95 Book Shipping Immediately from Amazon Now

Anyone who has visited this site recently may be aware that there has been an issue with the availability and shipping speed of my camera guide books on Amazon.com.  In the past, the books were almost always listed as “In Stock,” and usually were available for immediate shipping. For the past month or so, Amazon has been listing them as shipping within 2-3 weeks.  I ordered a book to test this, and the book came in 6 days, but at least one customer had to wait about 2 weeks for his book.

I hate to wait that long when I order something, and I don’t want my customers to have to wait, either.  For the past few weeks I offered several of the books for sale on Amazon as a third-party seller, noting that I would ship by the next business day.  I filled a good number of orders that way, but that method still does not provide the quick, overnight shipping that Amazon can offer, especially to Prime customers.

So, as of today, I am using a new system, called Fulfillment by Amazon. With this setup, I ship a bunch of books to Amazon, so they will have them physically in stock for overnight or other quick shipping.  I am still selling them as a third-party seller; my seller ID is alexstrawhite.  As of now, I am doing this only with the book about the Canon PowerShot S95; if it works out well, I’ll use this system for the other recent books also.

To order a Canon PowerShot S95 book this way, go to Amazon, and look for the New copies, starting at $23.95.  You will see the box saying Fulfillment by Amazon, letting you know how quickly the book can ship.

I will be interested to see if the Fulfillment by Amazon system works well for this book; I have never tried it before, but it seems to me that it will provide benefits in terms of getting the books to readers faster.

Of course, the book is also available as a PDF download.  Also, today I uploaded a version for the Kindle, though it has not yet become live on the Amazon site.  I will post a notice when it is available for sale.  The iBook version for the iPad has been uploaded also, and should be available soon.
